This panel discussion will address what South Carolina is doing to prepare for the influx of advanced manufacturing jobs coming to the state and the resources available to companies looking to fill those positions or upskill its workforce, offering solutions for manufacturing industry stakeholders and examining opportunities to help executives and stakeholders grow their businesses or organizations.

INAUGURAL MANUFACTURING MAVENS AWARDS:
This event will feature a panel discussion followed by an awards recognition in which we honor 10 women making an impact on South Carolina’s manufacturing industry. The all-female panel discussion, hosted by Catherine Hayes of the South Carolina Research Authority, will offer a diversity of thought on manufacturing industry-related issues through a woman’s lens: overcoming challenges, career advancement, mentorship, digital transition, technology, upskilling and more..

Keynote: Roger D. Fuller, chief operating officer, Sonoco Products Co.
Roger D. Fuller leads global manufacturing for Sonoco Products Co., a publicly traded global provider of packaging products based in Hartsville, S.C. With net sales of approximately $7.3 billion in 2022, the company, founded in 1899, has approximately 22,000 employees working in more than 300 operations around the world, serving the world’s best-known brands. Before becoming COO, Fuller was executive vice president of Sonoco, overseeing all industrial and consumer operations globally which served customers across 36 countries as well as Sonoco’s Supply Management and Logistics organization.
Mentoring speed round: This interactive event will feature 15 leaders in South Carolina’s manufacturing industry seated at tables with participants going table-to-table engaging in mini mentoring sessions. Participants will glean from our group of professionals what it takes to be successful in the manufacturing industry.
