Vermeer MV Solutions opened a newly expanded manufacturing facility with a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony in Piedmont.

The company produces equipment that uses water and vacuum power to safely expose with precision, avoiding damage caused by traditional digging methods.

The Dec. 16 event was attended by Vermeer leaders and team members, along with community partners and government officials.

“Eight years ago, Vermeer acquired McLaughlin and began a journey of growth here in Greenville,” Jason Andringa, president and CEO, said in a news release. “From a 40,000-square-foot facility with nearly 100 people, we’ve tripled in size and now doubled again. We’re proud of the products built here and the team that makes it possible.”

The company says the expansion marks a significant milestone in Vermeer’s commitment to the underground utility market and the greater Greenville community. The new facility adds more than 10,000 square feet of office and training space, along with 125,000 square feet of production space, and is expected to generate up to 100 new jobs.

Vermeer also recognized the support of local partners, architects, contractors and associations who collaborated with the Vermeer facilities team from Pella, Iowa.

“This expansion is a testament to our investment in creating great environments for important work,” Kate Guess, vice president of human resources and facilities, said in the news relese.

Vermeer MV Solutions, formerly known as McLaughlin Group Inc., was acquired by Vermeer in 2017. In 2018, Vermeer acquired Florida-based Vac-Tron Equipment and combined the two companies to form MV Solutions, the release stated. This integration supports Vermeer’s strategy to provide a comprehensive suite of vacuum excavation technology, equipment, training and support for the growing underground utility and soft dig markets. Hydro-excavation trucks and trailers use water and vacuum power to perform the work.
