Le Creuset, a French cookware manufacturer, has opened a 300,000-square-foot distribution facility in Hampton County, marking its fourth expansion in the Lowcountry.

The facility is intended to create 30 new jobs on top of the roughly 200 people employed by Le Creuset at its Early Branch U.S. headquarters. According to a news release, outbound operations are expected to begin in March.
“The new distribution center reflects our continued commitment to Hampton County and the surrounding region,” Chris Bauman, chief financial officer at Le Creuset of America, said in the release. “By expanding our presence we are generating jobs, investing in the community and creating a strong foundation for long term growth. We are excited to expand our footprint within Hampton Country and are grateful for everyone that made this facility possible.”
The facility is located at 601 Bob Gifford Blvd., alongside the current Le Creuset distribution warehouse. The company said the new operations should enable more efficient shipments and future automation capabilities, with employee-focused amenities.
The distribution hub was designed by McMillan Pazdan Smith and construction was overseen by Frampton Construction. WGPM Inc. handled structural engineering while Thomas & Hutton of Ladson completed civil engineering on the project.
