Bon Secours St. Francis Health System will build a new medical campus in the Powdersville area, the organization says, aimed at expanding access to high-quality care for residents of northeastern Anderson County and surrounding communities.
Health system officials broke ground officially Nov. 21 with a ceremony at the site, 104 Roe Road. That site has a Greenville address but it’s in a community where the borders of Anderson, Greenville and Pickens counties come together.
“Powdersville is one of the fastest-growing areas in our region, and we’re excited to meet the health care needs of this vibrant community,” Matt Caldwell, president of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, said in a news release. “This new campus reflects our commitment to providing convenient, comprehensive care close to home.”
The new site will feature a 40,000-square-foot medical office building housing a wide range of primary and specialty care services, including:
- Bon Secours Palmetto Greenville Urology – Powdersville
- Bon Secours Gastroenterology – Powdersville
- Bon Secours Carolina Surgical – Powdersville
- Bon Secours Carolina ENT – Powdersville
- Bon Secours Piedmont Orthopaedics – Powdersville
- Bon Secours OB-GYN – Powdersville
- Bon Secours Upstate Cardiology – Powdersville
- Bon Secours Hematology and Oncology – Powdersville (to include infusion services)
- Bon Secours Primary Care – Powdersville
Radiology and lab services will be available at this location. In addition to the medical office building, the campus will include a freestanding emergency department, according to the release. Modeled after the facility Bon Secours will soon be opening in Five Forks, this 12,500-square-foot emergency department will feature nine exam rooms, including one dedicated to trauma care, as well as CT and X-ray imaging. It will provide 24/7 access to board-certified emergency medicine professionals and state-of-the-art technology for a wide range of urgent medical needs.
“This is more than just a building. It’s a promise to our patients that we’re here for them, wherever they are,” Caldwell said in the release. “We’re proud to bring the Bon Secours legacy of compassionate, high-quality care to Powdersville.”
The Bon Secours Powdersville Medical Campus is expected to open early in 2027. For more information about Bon Secours services, locations, and updates on the Powdersville project, visit bonsecours.com.
Area health care systems are investing in the growing Powdersville area. AnMed Health opened the first wing of AnMed Piedmont in May, a $50 million campus that will provide medical services as well as 24-hour emergency care in Powdersville at 2110 S.C. Highway 86 near the Interstate 85 interchange. Also in May, Prisma Health broke ground on a $138 million behavioral health hospital. That facility is off S.C. Highway 153 at an Ealsey address that’s closer to the heart of Powdersville than downtown Easley.
