SC Manufacturing Madness seeks coolest product made in SC

South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce is looking for a successor to last year’s Coolest Thing Made in SC.

A year ago it was High Noon Sips made by Gallo at its Fort Lawn facility that rose to the top during the Manufacturing Madness showdown.

South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce has officially kicked off its fifth annual Manufacturing Madness competition in which the South Carolinians choose the Coolest Thing Made in SC.

This statewide, bracket-style contest showcases the innovation and impact of South Carolina’s manufacturing industry and invites the public to vote, according to a news release. is the contest sponsor.

“We are more excited than ever to kick off the fifth straight Manufacturing Madness competition,” SCMC President and CEO Sara Hazzard said in a news release. “There is no better way for our members, their teams, and the people who use products made right here in our own backyard to celebrate what manufacturing means to South Carolina. Manufacturing Madness puts a spotlight on the industry’s role in driving economic power. In SCMC’s inaugural year, which has so many people talking around South Carolina, it is especially meaningful to celebrate the products and people who make all of this possible.”

Since launching in 2022, Manufacturing Madness has attracted more than 750,000 votes from the general public. Steel made at was the first winner in 2022, followed a year later by the F-16 fighter jet made in Greenville by Lockheed Martin, and in 2024 by the Talon made by American Honda Motor Co. in Timmonsville.

Nominations are open at www.scmanufacturingmadness.com and run through Feb.19. Any product manufactured in South Carolina is eligible. Popular voting takes place Feb. 23-26 with bracket voting taking place weekly until final four voting March 16-19, the release stated. The winner will be announced at the State House on March 24.
