GE Vernova secures naming rights for new Greenville soccer park

GE Vernova is getting behind the Upstate soccer scene by taking on a multi-year agreement to hoist its name above the home stadium of the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty.

The company says it has the official naming rights for what will be called GE Vernova Park, a stadium currently under at in Mauldin.

The sponsorship underscores GE Vernova‘s commitment to supporting the communities where its employees live and work, the company said in a news release. The agreement between Greenville Pro Soccer and GE Vernova was brokered by global sports, music and entertainment company Wasserman.

“At GE Vernova, we believe in investing in the cities and communities that our employees call home,” CEO Scott Strazik said in the news release. “By supporting the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty, we are strengthening our ties to the region, fostering local pride and helping to create memorable experiences for our neighbors and families. Our commitment to the Upstate South Carolina area, including hiring over 500 people this year and more planned for 2026, reflects our dedication to building a brighter future, both on and off the field.”

In addition to soccer, GE Vernova Park at BridgeWay Station will host  events and activities. The venue is expected to host its first soccer matches in 2026. The stadium will seat 4,300, with a total capacity of 6,300.

“We are thrilled to welcome GE Vernova as our naming rights sponsor,” said Wallace Cheves, chairman of Greenville Pro Soccer, parent organization of the soccer teams. “Their leadership and investment in our community will help us elevate the fan experience and grow the sport of soccer across the Upstate. This relationship is a testament to the shared values of innovation, teamwork and community that define both our organizations and the people we serve.”

The project is a public-private partnership with the city of Mauldin, the state of South Carolina, Greenville Pro Soccer and Hughes Investments. Earlier this year, GE Vernova announced the addition of 650 jobs and $160 million in investment at its Greenville facility.

GE Vernova Inc. is a global energy company with power, wind and electrification segments supported by accelerator businesses. The company is headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., with approximately 75,000 employees across about 100 countries.

The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club fields a men’s professional team competing in , where it is a three-time finalist and the 2020 league champion. The Greenville Liberty, the club’s women’s pre-professional team, began competing in the USL W League in 2022.

BridgeWay Station is a development project by Hughes Investments, founded in 1991 by Phil Hughes and led now by Chief Operating Officer Teresa Rowe, Vice President Ryan Peiffer and Vice President Rivers Hughes. The company develops office, retail, industrial, multifamily, medical and mixed-use properties.
