It’s time to apply for the 2016 South Carolina Manufacturing Excellence Awards, including the esteemed Silver Crescent Award. The most prestigious award a South Carolina manufacturer can receive, the Silver Crescent Award is given annually to select manufacturing companies who meet a comprehensive set of criteria. The application process itself has been praised by manufacturing executives statewide for enabling their organization to streamline processes, increase margins and lower operating costs. Manufacturing operations must demonstrate superior performance in seven categories: Citizenship, Employee Engagement, Customer Satisfaction, Environmental Stewardship, Innovation, Financial Performance and Longevity Plan.

A team of judges made up of members from the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) will independently judge and score all applications. Up to three manufacturers in each of three employee-size categories (small, medium and large) will be honored with manufacturing excellence awards. Applicants that reach a certain threshold will also receive the coveted Silver Crescent Award. All winners will be honored at the Salute to Manufacturing Awards Banquet on April 21st, 2016. The banquet, part of the 2nd Annual SC Manufacturing Conference and Expo, will be held at the TD Convention Center in Greenville on April 20th and 21st. In 2015, Gov. Nikki Haley gave a keynote speech at the awards banquet and then presented all manufacturers with their awards.

The first step of the application process is to complete the Intent to Apply Form (by the designated deadline).
